Which is better a faster Wifi or 5G network in India? (2023)
-
In this article, we will go through if faster wifi all over India is better
or the 5G network. Make sure to correct in the comments if you feel any info
given is wrong.
Wifi and Mobile data connection have a lot more pros and cons, The
below discussed are the factors that I felt are worth mentioning.
Wifi:
The Advantages and Disadvantages of having faster Wifi :
We all know that
wifi
networks are available everywhere in most countries. but in the case of
India, the wifi networks are not as spread across on a
massive scale, so making the wifi available in every shop, park,
and in other places will be a highly time-consuming process, But
wifi has its own advantages too such as any devices from last decade can
take advantage of this (network speeds depends on the device too), most
wifi networks have got unlimited data too and is way cheaper than
the data packs for phones.
5G Network in India:
The Advantages and Disadvantages of having 5G network :
As of now in India, 5g is not commercially available but it is
confirmed that 5g will be rolled out in 13 major cities in
India this year which include Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Gurugram, Chandigarh, Bangalore,
Ahmadabad, Jamnagar, Hyderabad, Pune, Lucknow, and Gandhinagar.
The
Ookla 5g Map shows that there are around 9 being tested to be
commercially available.
So we have a long way to go, to make India filled with
5g networks, and since the distance covered by 5g signals is
short compared to 4g, the amount signal towers need to be
more.
But we have huge advantages once it's commercially available
everywhere, That is it can be as fast as 100 Mbps and this
technology can be implemented in the future in self-driving cars so
that each car can communicate with each other to decrease the
traffic, and this is possible because the speeds of these networks
are very high.
Conclusion:
So in conclusion, we have to work a lot on both options but as it
stands now making wifi available all over India is the
first thing
that needs to be done before thinking about both of these options.
